Grandmaster Zhiwu Nanyan (birth name Liu Zhiwu, clan name Liu Fuwu), born in May 1959 in Nantou County, Taiwan, was a Taoist Qigong practitioner, internal martial arts instructor, and a pioneer of Quantum Consciousness Awakening.
In 1977, he entered the orthodox martial lineage of Liu Yunqiao, training rigorously in Bajiquan, Praying Mantis Kung Fu, Baguazhang, and Cheng-style Tai Chi. Simultaneously, he cultivated deep practice in Taoist Internal Alchemy (Neidan) and Esoteric Buddhist meditation.

Lineage Successor of Grandmaster Zhiwu Nanyan | Founder of the Quantum Yoga Academy
Liu Zhiwen (clan name Liu Fuwen) is the elder brother and only publicly acknowledged witnessing disciple of Grandmaster Zhiwu Nanyan (clan name Liu Fuwu). He is regarded as the entrusted successor of the Master’s spiritual lineage and the founder of the Quantum Yoga Academy.
Born in November 1954 in Shuili Township, Nantou County, Taiwan, Liu Zhiwen pursued a path that uniquely integrates secular scholarship and deep spiritual cultivation. He graduated from National Chiao Tung University in 1977 and later traveled to the United States in 1980 to complete a Master’s degree in Computer Science. For many years, he worked professionally as a software engineer and information systems analyst, grounding his life in analytical rigor and technological precision.
Parallel to his professional career, his spiritual journey began in earnest in 1988 with the study of Taoist Qigong. In 1992, he received Vajrayana empowerment from Master Huihua of the Red School Yuanjue lineage and later from Master Lin Guoliang, entering a system that integrated Taoist internal alchemy and Esoteric Buddhist practice. He subsequently became a disciple within the Nyingma White Jade lineage under Penor Rinpoche, completing eight consecutive years of intensive summer retreat training.
He later entered the Chinese Chan Buddhist tradition at Dharma Drum Mountain, taking refuge under Master Sheng Yen and participating in multiple silent meditation retreats.
Over more than three decades of disciplined practice, Liu Zhiwen reports four major awakening experiences:
- In 2004, after years of Dzogchen cultivation, he experienced non-dual awareness and realization of the Diamond Sutra principle that all appearances are without fixed distinction.
- Later that year, he realized the unborn and undying nature of mind, acknowledged by Grandmaster Zhiwu Nanyan.
- In 2009, during a seven-day Chan retreat, he experienced realization of “no-self in Dharma,” confirmed by Chan teachers.
- In 2015, following a special empowerment, he experienced a profound purification awakening described as spiritual rebirth.
Following the passing of Grandmaster Zhiwu Nanyan in 2016, Liu Zhiwen entered deep meditation and reported visionary confirmation of the Master’s enlightened attainment. He interpreted this transition as corresponding to the highest Pure Land rebirth category described in the Amitayurdhyana Sutra and accepted responsibility for preserving the Master’s teachings.
Synthesizing decades of direct practice, Liu Zhiwen articulated a comprehensive cosmological framework centered on Quantum Consciousness Energy. He proposes that quantum consciousness corresponds to dark energy and underlies spiritual evolution. His system includes the “36 Levels of Cosmic Quantum Energy” and a ten-dimensional pathway describing the unity of Heaven and Humanity.
His published works include Cosmic Quantum Energy Genesis and Evolution of the 36 Levels of Cosmic Quantum Energy, presenting a structured model integrating Taoist alchemy, Buddhist insight, yogic cultivation, and modern metaphysical frameworks.
